The Fox and the Grapes

In this fable, a hungry fox sees a bunch of grapes hanging high on a tree branch. The fox makes multiple attempts to reach them but fails each time. Frustrated, the Fox declares the grapes must be sour and walks away. Moral: It is easy to dismiss or dislike something that is difficult to obtain. Alternatively, the story teaches the value of perseverance rather than resorting to excuses or blame. Story by Aesop, Illustration by Milo Winter circa 1919, Narrated by Gary Davidson.
