Ep. 33 “Stalking and Exploitation—Know it. Name it. Stop it.”
Episode 33
Thursday, 21 August, 2025

Content warning: This podcast episode discusses stalking and human trafficking. In this episode of Speaking Our Truth, Podcast for Change, the National Indigenous Women’s Resource Center (NIWRC) focuses on raising awareness and education on stalking. Stalking Awareness is defined as a pattern of behavior directed at a specific person that would cause a reasonable person to fear for the person’s safety or the safety of others. The pattern of behavior could cause a person to suffer substantial emotional distress. NIWRC is joined by Jane Anderson (Senior Attorney Advisor for AEquitas) and Jennifer Landhuis (Director of the Stalking Prevention, Awareness, and Resource Center) to discuss the behaviors and patterns of stalking, how those intersect with sex exploitation, and the ways communities and families can support victims of stalking. NIWRC and SPARC welcome you to join in and say, “Know it. Name it. Stop it.” Jane Anderson brings her expertise in prosecuting domestic violence, sexual violence, and human trafficking to her role as a Senior Attorney Advisor with AEquitas. Jennifer Landhuis brings over 25 years of experience as an educator and advocate on the issues of stalking, domestic violence, and sexual assault to her current position as the Director of the Stalking Prevention, Awareness, and Resource Center (SPARC). --This resource is made possible by grant 90-EV-0533-04 from the Administration on Children, Youth and Families, Family and Youth Services Bureau, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
