On episode 205 of March Forth with Mike Bauman, Mike chats with Ourselves Among Others! Based in Central Valley California, Ourselves Among Others is a metalcore band who dropped their album entitled "Infinite" this past August. From the introspective nature of "Sink Me Down," to the heartfelt message in "Stay Another Day," "Infinite" showcased the band's ethereal, cinematic sound that's catching on with modern metal fans. As part of a collaborative and talented California/West Coast metal scene, Ourselves Among Others has been part of The Artery Foundation Winterfest, as well as played shows with the likes of A Moments Notice, Gouged, Seaside Massacre, Solely Veil, and CODE:WORDS, among others. On February 6th, Ourselves Among Others dropped their latest single entitled "Drain," which was produced, mixed, and mastered by Nick Miller. The band shot the music video for "Drain" themselves, and it has since gone on to amass over 14,000 views on YouTube with BVTV. On April 3rd, Ourselves Among Others is set to release their new single "Parasite." In this episode, Jake, Matt, and Stephen of Ourselves Among Others talk with Mike about their collective music history together, their earliest introductions and influences in metalcore and alternative music, how Ourselves Among Others came to be, making "Infinite," "Drain," persevering through grief and loss, the healing power of music and metal music, and more.
