From Good Peeple Media “California’s Burning” is an investigative podcast examining the role Pacific Gas & Electric played in several fires across California dating back to the 1950s. In 2018, California saw a total of 7,571 wildfires and was host to the deadliest and most destructive fire in California history. In a federal filing on March 23, 2020 Pacific Gas & Electric, California’s largest utility company, announced it had plead guilty to 84 counts of involuntary manslaughter for the 2018 Campfire in the northern California town of Paradise. We unpack the lack of moral culpability that would later lead to decades of tragic loss. California's burning will trace the pattern of negligence, cover ups and lack of accountability from the United States' largest electric utility business.
