Merrilee walks in from makeup. Merrilee hears John’s recital. Merrilee begins to laugh - she keeps laughing with increasing intensity. She begins to cough and laugh. The producer steps in “we’re going to delay opening the show until Merrilee stops laughing.” Merrilee looks straight at John. John answers with locked eyes. They both begin to laugh and laugh and laugh. The producer says “We are done here. John and Merrilee, go dry out somewhere.
