Dye-Cycle Podcast

Author: Veraj Goel

A cognisance of the lethal impacts of synthetic dye and a need to recycle discarded garments led to the birth of a social venture: Dye- Cycle. This project has a simple, two-pronged aim first, to increase awareness about the pollution caused through dyeing in the textile industry from a scientific lens, and second, to recycle discarded/scrap garments by using natural catechu dye in a dyeing process conducive to the environment.

Episode 3: What Are the Scientific Properties That One Should Be Mindful of When Choosing a Dye?
Episode 3
Friday, 20 November, 2020

Hello, hello, this is Veraj and I’m back with the third and very crucial episode of the Science of Dyeing. Did you manage to slip an anecdote about the damage caused by synthetic dye or the benefits of cationization into dinner table conversation? Can be quite tricky I bet, but it’s important to make those around us aware of these issues.
