The Body Puzzle

The Body Puzzle

Author: Emily Tomlinson

We believe in wholeness. In an un-compartmentalized approach to our lived experience. The Body Puzzle is an exploration into the reasons our minds, bodies, and spirits are best supported by a comprehensive attitude toward our health and wellness. We understand that there's no one way to achieve harmony, which is why we're taking a multidisciplinary look at big topics that help us find balance in the multifaceted systems of our being. Staying true to the TPM mission of building bridges between disciplines and communities, episodes include insights from health-care professionals, wellness practitioners, teachers of both movement and mind-body practices, and other experts and specialists who can bring clarity and context to this conversation. The discussions will empower and challenge our beliefs, build up our foundational knowledge, and boost our connectedness to our own bodies and each other. Together, we'll figure out The Body Puzzle one piece at a time.

The Embodiment Series: Demystifying Embodiment with Chelsea Carver, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Yoga Teacher and Yoga Therapy Candidate
Episode 1
Monday, 16 January, 2023

Chelsea shares her definition of embodiment and the value of guiding clients and students to explore what their bodies' need.  She discusses how embodiment has many different facets and not all of them and rainbows and unicorns. Through her somatic psychology tools she encourages a spectrum of awareness and highlights the importance of meeting the discomfort that shows up in the body to best support whole person health and healing. Chelsea talks about the barriers in one's environment, relationships, and trauma that have a profound impact on embodiment. This is a great conversation with a practitioner who is blending the tools of science and yoga to meet people where they are and help them connect to their bodies.
