The OG of Disruption
Monday, 23 November, 2020
The word “bad boy” isn’t often thrown around in the world of advertising, or business in general, but it certainly applies to our guest, Jon Bond. That’s because since the day he started his agency, Kirshenbaum Bond in 1987 at the age of just 29, he has been pushing envelopes and stirring up controversy, all while creating hugely successful ad campaigns for some of the world’s biggest brands. More than just a rebel, Jon changed the game – he’s credited with inventing the pop-up store, sidewalk advertising and the concept of viral marketing. Once called “The OG of disruptive marketing”, Jon sat down with us in New York’s financial district to discuss a bevy of topics, including the time he pissed off the Reagan White House, and how Kenneth Cole and dictator wife Imelda Marcos gave him his big break. Buckle your seat belts, this is Jon Bond.
