In our second episode of 2026 Prof. David Spicer is joined by Dr George Madine, a four-time guest on our Responsible Management podcast, and University of Bradford engineering graduate, Martin Hill. An interesting and dynamic conversation focuses on leadership through change and transition for SMEs and entrepreneurs as all three speakers bring experience and expertise to the conversation. Our guests explore the psychology of workforce, empathetic leadership and the impact of AI for leaders amongst much more.The converstion focuses on leadership for SMEs and entrepreneurs but takes a wider view on business as a whole, including the ever shifting current technological and economic climates. Dr George Madine is a podcast regular and Assistant Professor in Leadership and Management at the School of Management. He holds experience in education and industry having setup more than half a dozen of his own businesses and being director for half a dozen more in public and private sectors. He has also been a business consultant and holds particular interest in psychology of the workplace. Martin Hill is a Bradford engineering graduate with an extensive career working in mobile technology and leading digital transformation. His work includes managing the design and development of the first touch-screen interface for smartphones and working on the integration of GPS within smartphones. He's led his own company which manages large-scale software development projects and has acted as a consultant for SMEs and corporates, mentoring and coaching dozens of business leaders over the last 25 years. Through his own company he has been working on permissioned distributed ledger tech, specifically on ultra-secure data storage and sharing platforms to stop mass data loss from cyberattacks.
