Mile High Magazine 04/26/2026 Molly Brown House
Wednesday, 29 April, 2026
Guest: Andrea Malcomb Historic Denver VP and Molly Brown House Museum Director Margaret “Molly” Brown became known as the unsinkable heroine of the Titanic after the 1912 disaster, where she immediately focused on helping fellow survivors—especially third‑class immigrants—ensuring they received care and support. Beyond her Titanic legacy, she was a passionate advocate for women’s, children’s, and workers’ rights, and in Colorado she devoted herself to major charitable efforts, from funding the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception to supporting St. Joseph’s Hospital, the juvenile court system, and the Denver Dumb Friends League. After following her brother to Colorado, she met and married Joseph Brown, raised two children, and moved to Denver after the family’s success in the gold industry. Today, the Molly Brown House continues her story through exhibits such as Unearthed: Voices of the Leadville Shanty Irish, which explores Irish immigration and labor history, and through new Titanic artifacts—including personal items recovered from victims and the final journal entry of a passenger who wrote “Titanic” on April 10, never to write again. www.mollybrown.org
