The Exploding Head

The Exploding Head

Author: Justina Poskeviciute

"I think my head's about to explode" is what I say to myself when something too grotesque, absurd, horrible, or insanely hypocritical is happening - and I think it's how many of us feel when witnessing injustice. In my podcast, to deconstruct that feeling, I talk about interconnected systems of oppression. Militarism, imperialism, colonialism, and several other -isms are inevitably there. My political commentary has been about Palestine since the beginning and is mostly on Gaza these days. You can read more about my projects here: http://www.justinaposkeviciute.com/

On The Global Sumud Flotilla, and What The World with Israel in It Looks Like
Episode 25
Monday, 4 May, 2026

The kidnapping from international waters of Thiago Avila and Saif Abu Keshek from the Global Sumud Flotilla by Israeli forces, as well as their illegal detention in Israel, is yet another example of the horrors that the world has allowed. And this is only one example of what the world of Israel looks like.To exist in this world - to physically be and function in such a world - can be hard on our nervous systems. My video is a reminder of both what that world has been, why it is absolutely OK for our hearts and minds to be heavy, and what we have to work towards in our lifetime.#Israel #globalsumudflotilla #ThiagoAvila #Gaza #GazaGenocide
