Kingflower (a.k.a. Garrett Langebartels) is the person responsible for connecting me with a few guests on this show including: Descolada, Arselia Kent, Kayla Phillips, Andrew Pelletier, and Devin Hopwood. We talk about how recording engineering requires education and time, and the importance of feeling something rather than over explaining it. Kingflower is a 5-piece American Indie Rock/Americana band from Indianapolis, IN. The band formed in 2020 when producer and principle songwriter Garrett Langebartels assembled the likes of Justin Langebartels, Steve Bradley, Tommy Travis, and Shea Farmer. Their collective love for atmospheric Indie Rock/Americana (bands like Wilco, Ben Howard, the National, the War on Drugs and Radiohead) created a perfect universe for the reflective and melancholic midwestern songwriting Garrett offers.
