Living like royalty: Governor General takes another HUGE pay raise

The governor general just took another pay raise. And you paid for it! The governor general’s salary is now just shy of $400,000. Plus, you’re paying for a bunch of other extravagant perks for the governor general. A governor general can bill you for up to $130,000 for their clothes. A former governor general can also bill taxpayers like you up to $200,000 every year for the rest of their lives and up to six months after their death. A former governor general gets a $150,000 annual taxpayer-funded pension.
