Welcome once again to the latest episode of the West Midlands Police podcast. This podcast is all about modern slavery, often a hidden crime that too often takes place in full public view, such as car washes, nail bars and restaurants. In the first half of the show, we'll tell you how we caught a Slovakian family, who were operating all over Europe and profited from human trafficking for over a decade. We speak to our investigators, as well as police officers in Slovakia and Holland, to explain how we finally brought the family to justice. After this, one of our senior officers, as well as two people from the Anti-Slavery Network, join us to talk about their experiences in helping modern slavery victims, and tell us how you can spot the signs of someone who is a victim of this crime.
