The brain has evolved to understand other people. A relatively new area of neuroscience is the investigation of the social brain. Recent research has shed light on how we are able to understand other peoples actions and intentions. Neuroscience has also made important steps towards understanding impairments in these abilities, such as those found in autism. In addition, recent research has begun to focus on how the social brain develops during adolescence.
