Pastor Al teaches that Jesus’ death and resurrection are one package and shares that many churches still mix the old and new covenants by urging believers to keep the Ten Commandments, despite the full law totaling 613 commands and James 2:10 stating failure in one point makes one guilty of all. Citing John 19:30, he says “It is finished” means the law ended at Jesus’ death, and uses Hebrews 9 to argue the New Testament (a “will/testament”) begins at death, not Jesus’ birth. He shares that preaching the law is harmful because “the power/strength of sin is the law” (1 Cor. 15:56) and the law increases trespass, while the new covenant brings transformation, not behavior modification.
