One Last Word: He is Risen! Matthew 28:1-10During the Season of Lent, we focused on the seven last words of Christ. Today we’ll look at the story of the first Easter and remember another important word of Jesus, that He would rise again!The Seven Last Words of JesusIf you had been a part of the crowd on the day Jesus died, you would have heard him make seven astounding statements. They are remarkable words, not only due to His distress, but because of the deep meaning they convey. For over a thousand years, Christians have turned to the seven last “words” or sayings of Jesus on the cross to guide them during the season of Lent. This year, we will join in that tradition and focus on the things Jesus uttered with his dying breath. We do so, hoping not only that we might find guidance for living as Jesus did, but also so that we might know Jesus more and understand the meaning of His death more in preparation for the celebration of His resurrection on Easter.
