You Can’t Win Them All - Bricks Without StrawExodus 5:1-21, 1 Corinthians 3:6-8 Moses finally goes to Pharaoh but isn’t successful. Sometimes obedience leads to suffering before it leads to blessing; sometimes this is God’s plan, and sometimes our own failings are a part of it. Are we able to be faithful even when we aren’t successful?Exodus Part 1: The Great Escape The Exodus is the foundational story of God’s people, the Jews. It formed their identity as the chosen people and powerfully illustrated God’s identity as a God who saves. The book of Exodus is filled with stories of the faith of God’s people being forged that still speak powerfully today, and from which we can learn much. However, the Exodus also foreshadowed of an even greater rescue. The Jews were saved from literal slavery and brought into a literal promised land. Hundreds of years later, Jesus would save us from spiritual slavery to sin and bring us into the spiritual promised land of heaven.
