Taking an EAA Supplement before, during or after your workout can produce an increase in Protein Synthesis that may create a positive protein balance and result in a muscle-building (anabolic) state that allows you to recover and build muscle more easily. Also, a correction is that the body does not have 20 AMINO ACIDS. In general, there are 20 Amino Acids and out of that 9 are Essential Amino Acids that the body does not produce and we need to consume.
