Steve Hauschildt is an American electronic and ambient composer and producer, now based in Tbilisi, Georgia. He first came to wider attention as a member of the experimental trio Emeralds, before turning to a remarkable solo career. His music merges modular and granular synthesis, subtle sequencing, and a poetic balance between structure and drift. In this conversation, we’ll explore Steve’s journey from Emeralds to his solo projects, his evolving approach to composition and performance, and the philosophies that guide his ambient creations, including his new album, AEROPSIA.
