In this Interview I sat down with Norfolk VA basketball legend Desmond "DEZ" Lee. Where we discuss his upbringing coming up in Roberts and Mouton Park, when did he get his start and sports, being recruited by ever high school in Norfolk to come play basketball. Choosing Booker T Washington High were he was a 2 sport superstar in Football playing quarterback and safety and basketball where he won a state championship and ever year playing in the state tournament and becoming all tidewater in basketball. We also discussed his journey to having to go to prep school and juco because of test scores and eventually becoming JUCO all American and top 5 recruit in the nation at New Mexico Junior College, which lead Dez to signing a scholarship with NC STATE Wolfpack over 15 other Division 1 programs. At NC STATE he started in 20 games his first year to having to play a sixth man role his senior year and playing a key role into upsetting the Villanova wildcats in the NCAA tourney to make the sweet 16. The same Villanova team with Mikal Bridges and Josh Hart and other NBA players that later went on to win back to back national title.
