The Orlando Magic expected a quiet summer and essentially accomplished that with three minimum signings of Nikola Vucevic, Jevon Carter and Jonathan Isaac. This team feels very much the same as it did last year with the same strengths and weaknesses. The Magic indeed doubled down on internal growth, putting the pressure on Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner and Jalen Suggs to elevate the team into contention status as they venture into the tax for the first time. Can this core stay healthy and carry the Magic deeper into a much more competitive Eastern Conference? Or will the familiar issues derail these hopes and lead to bigger questions? In addition to the core players, the Magic will need big contributions off the bench not only from Anthony Black, but likely from Tristan da Silva.
