What are the main risks of artificial intelligence according to the UN's new scientific panel? Why is the real problem today not robots, but the speed of change that schools, companies and politics are not ready for? And which jobs will disappear, and which will become even more indispensable? The guest of this episode of Deep Talks was Dr. Leslie Teo, Senior Director at AI Singapore. A former chief economist of Singapore's sovereign wealth fund GIC, he is now a member of the UN's Independent International Scientific Panel on AI, which published its first report on the opportunities, risks and impacts of AI this July. We talked about disinformation and the erosion of shared reality, the cybersecurity of open models, AI's impact on the labour market, the concentration of power in the hands of a few companies, regulation versus values, and the question of what remains human when AI can do almost all intellectual work for almost nothing.
