Today's consumers can be forgiven for responding sceptically to articles about the health benefits that can be accessed through considered changes in food intake and nutrition. Across the last 20 years, we have all seen conflicting news headlines and media stories about food nutrition. It is nice to read evidence-based stories about the impact of food nutrition on wellbeing. Here is one such incredible story. Men were dropping dead from heart attacks This story goes back to the year the 1970s and features the country of Finland. In 1972, an international team of academics and scientists uncovered what was considered a terrifying public-health crisis in the Scandinavian country. In a far eastern province of Finland (a place known as North Karelia) middle-aged men were suddenly dying of heart attacks at the highest known rates in the world at that time. This is the story of the man who help to eradicate this issue and transformed the heart health of the Finnish people. Louise Riley also joins us as a guest to talk about The Wellness Rack.
