Standing Up For What We Believe In - Marcus Rashford
Episode 3
Wednesday, 16 September, 2020
In this episode, I'll be shining the light on Marcus Rashford, the Manchester United and England footballer. He has a luxury lifestyle now, but his story is one of free school meals, soup kitchens, breakfast clubs and food banks. He has truly experienced poverty, first-hand. Marcus Rashford, this week successfully campaigned for the government to make a U-turn and extend its free school meals voucher scheme over the summer holidays - a change of policy that will benefit 1.3m children in the UK. In doing so, he has stood up for what he believes in. He's challenged authority in a dignified way and set a great example of how to communicate to connect and gain influence. This highlights a characteristic that we believe makes a truly inspiring role model.
