Nach einer Knie-Operation kann sie nicht mehr weit gehen, und die Ärzte sagen: „Sie müssen sich bewegen, aber Sie müssen auch oft sitzen.“Also geht Krystyna jeden Tag ein Stück weiter – von ihrer Wohnung zur Straßenbahn und zurück. Aber wo ist die nächste Bank? Manchmal gibt es keine, und ihr Knie tut sehr weh.Sie nimmt ein Notizbuch mit. Sie schreibt jede Bank auf und macht kleine Kommentare: „zu niedrig“, „volle Sonne“, „guter Blick auf den Fluss“.Woche für Woche wird das Notizbuch dicker.Dann fragen Freunde und Nachbarn: „Krystyna, gibt es Bänke auf dem Weg zur Klinik?“Ein Notizbuch kann man nicht teilen. Also macht sie mit jüngeren Verwandten eine Karte im Internet.Heute nutzen viele ältere Menschen in Wrocław Krystynas Karte, wenn sie einen Spaziergang planen. Keine Behörde hat diese Arbeit gemacht – nur eine Rentnerin mit einem Notizbuch und einem kaputten Knie.ENGLISH:Krystyna is seventy years old and lives in Wrocław. After knee surgery, she can no longer walk far, and the doctors say: "You need to move, but you also need to sit down often." So Krystyna walks a little farther each day — from her apartment to the tram stop and back. But where is the next bench? Sometimes there isn't one, and her knee hurts badly. She takes a notebook with her. She writes down every bench and adds little comments: "too low," "full sun," "nice view of the river." Week by week the notebook gets thicker. Then friends and neighbors ask: "Krystyna, are there benches on the way to the clinic?" You can't share a notebook. So she creates an online map with younger relatives. Today many older people in Wrocław use Krystyna's map when they plan a walk. No government agency did this work — just a retiree with a notebook and a bad knee.
