The Artist Guides was established in response to the overwhelming number of artists requesting help and advice with their development and self-management. The rise in numbers of independent artists operating in the music industry is nothing short of a revolution. We are dedicated to providing professional development to all independent artists. The Artists Guides’ founders, James Brister and Sean McDermott have over 30 years of joint experience in the music industry. They specialise in artist management, performance, musicianship, music business, artist development, and career coaching. Previous and current music industry roles include Directorships, Head of Marketing, Industry Liaison Manager, Head of Sales, and Consultancy. Notably, both founders worked together for many years on the management team at the UK's leading music performance college (the ICMP) in London, building an industry network, creating a music careers service, coaching artists, and developing auditions criteria.
