Every year, thousands of fires burn throughout Western Australia. Bushfires account for the highest number of fires attended to by both career and volunteer firefighters. Currently, over 75% of the 26 000 firefighters in Western Australia are Bushfire Volunteers, yet there are still many people out there today who don't even know that they exist, let alone know about the sacrifices they make daily to look after their local community.
