Hello everyone, welcome to my podcast Murder on the ligne 7. I am your host, Irene, and Ill talk about true crime.Im Italian, so, Im not a native speaker. As a matter of fact, this is a podcast done by International Students. I am currently living in Paris, and my guests are people coming from all over the world. Our English will be easy and understandable, and also probably well make a lot of mistakes so dont judge us. The name is taken from a famous quote but also something that applies to our life in Paris: Agatha Christies Murder on the Orient Express, adapted to Murder on the ligne 7, which is a very problematic line for Parisians.I hope you will enjoy our conversations and don't hesitate to share with us all of your comments on our instagram page: @murder_on_the_ligne7 Language: en Genres: True Crime Contact email: Get it Feed URL: Get it iTunes ID: Get it |

Warren Jeffs and the FLDS Church
Episode 1
Wednesday, 7 February, 2024
In 2006 the FBI added a new name to its most wanted list. It is Warren Jeffs, leader of a polygamous cult. This community, residing in the Short Creek area at the border between Utah and Arizona, is found to have practiced polygamy, underage marriages, rapes, and much more. The prophet, Warren Jeffs, allegedly having more than 80 wives, shaped the FLDS church throughout the years turning it into a dark cult where women were deprived of any freedom, including the freedom of thought. After all the accusations and trials, it is estimated that about 6,000 to 10,000 people are still a part of the church, supporting Warren Jeffs and following the preaching and sermons he holds behind bars.
