The Unshakable Kingdom and Mountain of Joy

Hebrews 12:18–29 calls us to see the staggering difference between Mount Sinai and Mount Zion. Sinai burned with holiness and fear, reminding sinners they could not draw near. But through Jesus Christ, believers have come to Mount Zion—the heavenly city of the living God—where angels gather in joy, the redeemed stand forgiven, and the Judge of all welcomes His people. Christians have come to this unshakable kingdom because the blood of Jesus speaks the final word. Yet the passage also warns us not to refuse the One who speaks from heaven. A final shaking is coming, and only God's kingdom will stand. Therefore, let us cling to the gospel and worship our holy God with grateful, reverent hearts.
