They know firsthand the fear, uncertainty, and pain that come with a cancer diagnosis, and they want to guide others through this journey towards a place of strength and resilience. Their mission is to show that, despite the challenges, it's possible to Reset & Rise and emerge from this experience as better, more empowered individuals. Friday, 16 May, 2025
In today’s episode, Darren and I open up about some of the most pivotal moments in our health journeys—times when we had to go against medical advice and follow our intuition instead. From stopping a surgery that could have taken a turn for the worse, to insisting on a second opinion after an MRI was misread, we share real examples of how advocating for yourself (or your loved one) can literally save a life. This isn’t about ignoring doctors—it’s about remembering you are the expert on your body. You’re allowed to ask questions, get second opinions, and pause when something doesn’t feel right. 💬 “You are in control of your health. You live in your body 24/7. Trust it.” 🔥 In This Episode: Why I stopped Darren’s surgery and how that decision changed everything The time Darren pushed for more testing—when doctors said he was fine What led me to go off an aromatase inhibitor and explore alternatives after an osteoporosis diagnosis The importance of tracking symptoms, hospital behavior, and daily changes When “protocol” doesn’t fit the person—and how to question it respectfully Stories from Lindsay and Jennifer that highlight the power of self-advocacy Why it’s okay to ask, “But does this really make sense for me?
