Cog van der Colff boer reeds die afgelope 20 jaar op ‘n familieplaas van 200ha in die Upington-omgewing, op die oewers van die Oranjerivier, wat tafeldruiwe, rosyne en pakanneute produseer. Cog het in 2006 na organiese boerdery oorgeskakel en ‘n paar jaar later sy eerste suksesvolle oes gelewer. Die boerdery het van krag tot krag gegaan, en in 2011 is Cog aangewys as Agri SA/Toyota se ‘Boer van die Jaar’. Die plaas beskik boonop oor sy eie verpakkingsfasiliteit vir rosyne, wat ‘n addisionele bron van inkomste en werkskepping bied, en verlede jaar het Cog ook ‘n lisensie bekom om cannabis, vir medisinale doeleindes, te produseer vir uitvoer na Kanada.
