Orthodox Prison Ministries: An Interview with Louise about Faith and Compassion
Wednesday, 16 February, 2022

I interview Louise, a fellow parishioner at my Serbian Orthodox Church about the importance of Christian's getting involved in prison ministry. Louise has an incredible story. She was a Nurse and lived a life of service before retiring and getting involved in the OCA Prison Ministry program. During this time, one of her son's was incarcerated and one of them became an Orthodox Monk. She has lived both sides of this and has met some incredible people, learned some amazing things during her time in the OCPM. If you want to be a good warrior for Christ, saving souls and converting people, prison is the best place to start!  In Hebrews 13:3, Paul asks Christians to “remember those in prison as if you were together with them in prison.” In Matthew 25, Jesus says “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” Conversely, “whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.”
