EoE: Picking the Right Tool For the Job
Episode 1
Tuesday, 18 February, 2025
Welcome to a special two-episode series: Do You See What I-SEE? A Practical How-To for Using Eosinophilic Esophagitis Severity Tools. These episodes have been developed in partnership between American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) and Projects In Knowledge (PIK) Powered By Kaplan and are featured in both AGA’s Inside Scope podcast channel as well as PIK’s Morning Commute podcast channel. Without a standardized approach to severity assessment, eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) is challenging to evaluate and monitor. To address this, the Index of Severity in EoE (I-SEE) was developed by leading experts in collaboration with the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) and is designed to be easily used in routine practice. In this episode, Drs. Evan Dellon and Nirmala Gonsalves discuss the roles of different assessment tools in clinical practice, how they traditionally evaluate disease severity, and why the EoE community saw a need for something like the I-SEE Clinical Index. Supported by educational grants from Bristol Myers Squibb and Takeda Pharmaceuticals U.S.A., Inc.
