Episode 2
Saturday, 14 May, 2022

Lex and Jaz are with one of the alternative hip hop duos based in Ireland, Tebi Rex. They are one of the most exciting Irish bands of any genre. Tebi Rex has created a stir not only at home but in the US and UK via their high-energy live show, radio-friendly singles, witty videos, and social media presence. They are known to have a style that can fluctuate from being catchy upbeat pop to strikingly dark and complex lyricism Tebi Rex just released their new album, It's Gonna Be Okay. Together, let’s find out what are their inspirations behind their music and how they were able to overcome all of their insecurities and apprehensions. Golden Nuggets: πŸ’š β€œI think everyone's an expert on something, you know, you can find someone who's very knowledgeable on things like bronze artifacts or whatever.” πŸ’š β€œIf you just have goals, goals that make sense. It helps you recenter because, yeah, obviously, there's always something bigger embedded in you.” πŸ’š β€œHip hop is, like, black culture and American black culture, which is, I think really important, actually has to give credit to the roots of it. And to me, I think it means potential and possibility at it's like, it's a type of genre of music that was made to be easy to produce and accessible.” πŸ’š β€œYou did this thing that shouldn't have been possible, but you did it regardless, you know, you can not take that away.” πŸ’š β€œTwo major regrets in my life, everything else and every other stumble every mistake. I'm like that's fine like it's fine to have made a mistake it's fine to have made a mug of yourself it's fine to like all of those things are valid.” Connect with TEBI REX: Email: dafeorugbo@gmail.com Instagram: @tebirexofficial Twitter: https://twitter.com/tebirex Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/tebirex/ Website: https://tebirex.com/ YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0g8GjeWdCmNBBuTIipxQmA Connect with Hip Hop Heartistry:  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/hiphopheartistry/ Email: hiphopheartistry@outlook.com   Connect with Lex:  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/alivetoenjoy/ Website: https://www.alivetoenjoy.com/ Connect with Jaz:  Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/jazminkylene/ Website: https://www.jazminkylene.com/ Timestamps from the episode: 02:15   How do they process their emotions 04:00   Insecurities or apprehension that they had to overcome 05:29   Their purpose behind being an artist 08:34   How does he co-create with his partner 09:53   What accomplishments does he wants to chase 11:27   What will he say to his past version of himself if given a chance 13:54   What does Hip Hop means to him 16:47   Did he find himself blending different genre 19:55   Does he feel a sense of gratitude for his losses
