Brazil has long been on the frontlines in the fight against Yellow Fever. In this episode, we hear the story of the country's response to a recent three-year outbreak which tested its resources and cost hundreds of lives. Dr Rivaldo VenĂ¢ncio da Cunha, Deputy Secretary for Health and Environmental Surveillance at the Ministry of Health in Brazil and the eminent Dr Pedro Vasconcelos, Professor of Pathology and specialist in arbovirology and tropical medicine at ParĂ¡ State University, share their experience and insights on developing surveillance systems to detect the Yellow Fever virus in communities and launching mass vaccination campaigns, successfully controlling the epidemic in the country.
