South African "Scourge" of femicide - fake news

While crime of all sorts is out of control in South Africa, the media and activists carry water for a government unable or unwilling to do anything about it, by pushing divisive views based on misreadings of official data. For three years, the issue of femicide has eclipsed all other crime (even crime that does disproportionately impact women) as a social and political concern, despite femicide being a "rare phenomenon" according official reports.
