Hey sports enthusiasts! Ready for a thrilling episode of Chalk Talk? We've got your all-access pass to the world of sports, culture, and lifestyle. Check out the real-time commentary and plenty of excitement.The Houston Texans have a two-day mandatory minicamp beginning this morning, but first I’m going to start with the drama surrounding the WNBA and the Caitlin Clark story. There has been so much conversation about Clark and what she means to not only the WNBA, but women’s basketball. Quite frankly the conversation and coverage from media who prior to Clark’s emergence as a generational player have never really covered the league has created some interesting and dangerous narratives. Headlines referring to a hard foul against Clark as “assault” in the Chicago Tribune is just one example. Another is a conversation on a national sports debate show that went off the rails because… well, tune in and we’ll talk about it. For context, I’ve followed the WNBA since its inception including being part of the Houston Comets’ broadcast team for two of their championship seasons. Kris Garner of the Houston Roundball Review, also a long-time basketball and women’s basketball journalist will join me.In other basketball news, the NBA Finals start later this week… we’ll have a preview. Now back to the Houston Texans, everyone should be on the field today and tomorrow for the team’s mandatory minicamp. We may even get a chance to talk with Texans’ receiver Stefon Diggs… I’ll let you know. Last, but certainly not least we’ll check in on the Houston Astros.
