EP102: Ramadan – A Month of Action or Isolation? Ft Abdul Ahad
Sunday, 2 March, 2025
We’re often told that Ramadan is about personal spirituality, seclusion, and self-improvement—but history tells a different story. The Battle of Badr, the Conquest of Makkah, and the liberation of Jerusalem all happened in Ramadan. It was a month that galvanised the Ummah, not one where Muslims disconnected from their responsibilities. So how did we go from a month of victory to a month of fatigue and passivity? Why are we encouraged to switch off from the struggles of the Ummah during this blessed month? And how do we revive the true spirit of Ramadan—a time of action, discipline, and transformation? In this episode, I’m joined by Abdul Ahad from Canada to unpack the forgotten power of Ramadan and challenge the modern, pacified narrative.
