Aquarium of the Pacific
Episode 70
Saturday, 10 January, 2026
In today’s episode, "Aquarium of the Pacific", the crew revisits their time at the Aquarium of the Pacific, located in sunny Long Beach California. Amber and Christine were actually able to visit twice! They go through the exhibits, favorite sightings and rate the aquarium. Frogs, birds, jellies, sharks, they have quite a few species. They also have many garibaldi, the pride of the pacific ocean and native to California. We also provide a bit of history for this dynamite aquarium! Come along! This podcast is brought to you by the garibaldi, Hypsypops rubicundus. Commonly called the marine goldfish after its orange coloration, garibaldi are the largest damselfish in the world. Its name originates from Giuseppe Garibaldi, an Italian politician whose followers wore bright red shirts. One might assume that it’s named a garibaldi because it has no hair on its head, which is true. …No fish have hair at all. They are, in fact, baldies. Cheers to you, garibaldi and happy 2026.Thanks for listening to Gettin’ Fishy With It! You can find our new website at www.gettinfishywithit.com.
