Transgenic Animals for Diabetes Research

LMU veterinarian Eckhard Wolf and his colleagues have created a genetically modified strain of pigs that reproducibly develops diabetes mellitus. Using this animal model, new diagnostic and therapeutic possibilities can be tested before being translated into clinical practice.
