Ms. Davis is in her 2nd year of teaching and in her first-year as a 4th grade teacher. Halfway into the school year, she finds herself struggling to keep her students engaged in writing. She notices that the students do relatively well on the tests based on their scores, but they have no interest in the writing process. She also receives minimal participation during writing activities. During her lunch break, she expresses her frustrations to Mr. Persaud, a fellow colleague with 22 years of teaching experience.
