A Dose Of Nature Podcast Episode 5: Prof. Graham Rook and the Old Friends Hypothesis

		Sunday, 27 January, 2019
On this show, I am joined by Professor Graham Rook from UCL. Graham is an emeritus professor of medical microbiology who has made a significant contribution to our understanding of several diseases. He also put forward the Old Friends hypothesis - an update of the Hygiene hypothesis and a mechanism to help explain the current rise in immunological disorders. Contact and interaction with biodiverse environments likely plays a major role in maintaining a healthy immune system. We discuss various other factors that affect our health and wellbeing with some fascinating case studies.
