They simply seemed to fade into the rays of the moonlight and pass out through the window, for I could see outside the dim, shadowy forms for a moment before they entirely faded away. -- About the Story -- Dracula, written by Irish author Bram Stoker while managing the world-famous Lyceum Theatre in London, was first published on May 18, 1897. Stoker spent years researching European folklore, drawing heavily on Emily Gerard's 1885 essay "Transylvania Superstitions."
