Abbey Road Studios is the most famous recording studio in the world, renowned for its creativity and technological excellence. It is a global icon that for the last 90 years has been the musical home to artists such as The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Ella Fitzgerald, Radiohead, Ed Sheeran, Kanye West, Lady Gaga,, Amy Winehouse and Adele. We wanted an insider take on this sacred studio so we could learn about the art of mastering and remastering music. Our studio guide is Simon Gibson. Simon is one of the world's leading audio restoration and remastering engineers and has 30 years’ experience at Abbey Road. He has mastered the work of some of the world's best known names in pop, rock and classical music, including The Beatles, Depeche Mode, Robbie Williams, and soundtrack albums to many Hollywood blockbusters. He is responsible for the audio restoration on the Grammy Award-winning The Beatles Album Remasters among numerous restoration projects in his illustrious career.
