SATAN & COFFEE — THE OCCULT NEEDS TO GROW UP
Tuesday, 25 August, 2026
Occultism has survived for centuries. But survival is not the same thing as legitimacy. In the modern world, the occult is still routinely treated as a teenage phase, a costume, a collection of superstitions, or something no serious adult could possibly dedicate their life to studying.Part of that perception comes from outside of the occult.Part of it, however, is something we have allowed ourselves. There is no shortage of occult books, courses, teachers, organizations, traditions, temples, orders, and schools. What remains remarkably underdeveloped is the infrastructure surrounding them: educational standards, academic structure, defined curricula, meaningful assessment, institutional accountability, research methodology, and recognized levels of competency.Today on Satan & Coffee, I want to talk about changing that. Not by sanitizing occultism. Not by begging mainstream institutions for approval.By building institutions worthy of being taken seriously.π COLLEGIUM ARCANUM πInfernal Compass is beginning the development of Collegium Arcanum: an occult academy designed from the beginning to function with the structure and academic expectations of a university.Departments.Courses.Defined programs of study.Academic progression.Assessments.Faculty standards.Research.Publications.Certificates and degrees within the institution's own educational framework. The goal is not simply to create another collection of online occult courses. The goal is to begin constructing an actual institution of occult education. But one academy is not enough.π BUILDING STANDARDSIf occult education is ever going to mature as a field, schools must eventually be able to demonstrate that their programs meet defined standards. That means discussing something considerably larger:The creation of an independent governing and accreditation body for occult schools, academies, colleges, and universities. Not an organization deciding what people are allowed to believe. An organization establishing what educational institutions should be expected to provide.Curriculum standards.Instructor qualifications.Academic integrity.Transparent requirements.Research standards.Student protections.Assessment procedures.Institutional accountability.Different traditions could teach radically different philosophies while still being held to serious educational standards.π TODAY WE DISCUSSWhy occultism still struggles to be taken seriously.Where modern occult education falls short. Why institutional structure does not require religious conformity. The philosophy behind Collegium Arcanum. What an actual occult university could look like. Why independent accreditation matters. How standards could exist without creating occult dogma. And what it would take to transform occultism from a scattered collection of traditions into a mature field of study.π THIS IS NOT ABOUT MAKING THE OCCULT MAINSTREAM.It is about making it rigorous. It is about preserving knowledge. It is about creating standards. It is about building institutions capable of surviving beyond the personalities who created them.Occultism does not need to become less strange. It needs to become more serious.#Occultism #Occult #Esotericism #OccultEducation #CollegiumArcanum #InfernalCompass #SatanAndCoffee #Luciferian #LeftHandPath
