התוכן האחריות לומר לזולת את כל האמת בלי פשרות – נוגע מאוד, כי כאשר הלה יפגש סוכ"ס מי שכן יאמר לו את כל האמת בדברים היוצאים מן הלב ויתעורר ויתהפך מן הקצה אל הקצה – יבוא הלה אליו בטענה היתכן שהוא לא אמר לו את האמת לפני זה?! מצד אהבת ישראל יש לקרב כל יהודי – אבל בלי לוותר אפי' על דקדוק קל של דברי סופרים! וכמסופר בגמ' שכאשר רב הגיע לבבל "בקעה מצא וגדר בה גדר" ["עמי הארצים היו ומזלזלין במצוות והחמיר עליהן לעשות סייג להרחיקן מן העבירה כאדם הגודר בקעה פרוצה לשומרה". רש"י] (בנוגע לבשר בחלב, עירובין ושימוש באילן בשבת). ורק כך נהי' בבל מקום תורה עד ש"הלכה כבבלי"! וההוראה: כאשר נתקלים בענין שהדור "פרוץ" בו – לא צ"ל הגישה לוותר קצת אלא להיפך – "גדר בה גדר". ואף אם בהתחלה לא ישמחו כ"כ..., הרי מכיון שזהו רצון ה' בתורה ש"דרכי' דרכי נועם וכל נתיבותי' שלום" – הרי זוהי אהבת ישראל לאמיתתה, ולבסוף יודו לו!משיחת י"ט כסלו ה'תשל"ה ל"הנחה פרטית" או התרגום ללה"ק של השיחה: https://thedailysicha.com/?date=24-04-2026 Synopsis One must tell others the whole truth about the Torah, without compromise. And if you don’t tell another Jew the whole truth, then later when someone does, and that Jew is awakened and transformed, he may come back to you with a complaint for not having told him earlier…Ahavas Yisroel requires drawing every Jew near, without conceding even the slightest detail. As the Gemara relates about Rav who, upon arriving in Bavel, “found an open area” (a lack of observance with regard to meat and milk, eruvin, and using a tree on Shabbos), “and he fenced it in” (Rashi: “he imposed stringencies upon them in order to make a safeguard and distance them from sin, like a person who fences in a breached field to protect it.”). And in was precisely in this way that Bavel become a place of Torah, to the extent that “the halachah follows Bavli.” The lesson is that when one encounters a breach, an area in Torah in which the generation isn’t careful, the correct approach is not to relinquish any aspect of Yiddishkeit, but on the contrary, to “fence it in” by adding additional stringencies.
