Ilkley Manor HouseAuthor: Ilkley Manor House Trust
With the lockdown starting to be eased across the country and survey results telling us that the public would be more confident to venture into open spaces then into buildings, the Manor House Trust feel that making the most of the outside space we manage would be a great additional asset for visitors to and residents of the town. This project we have called Inside Out and was launched on 1 July 2020. These podcasts are part of that project and aim to give the visitors and listeners an opportunity to hear more about the history of the house, garden and Roman fort. Becoming a volunteer at Ilkley Manor House
Tuesday, 1 June, 2021
As part of the Manor House's celebration of Volunteer Week Helen Hawney, Volunteer Co-ordinator talks with Amanda Danells-Bewley about becoming a volunteer at Ilkley Manor House. Helen describes the roles and activities that volunteers can get involved with and how the Manor House has been awarded the quality mark 'People Can Make a Difference' for its approach to its volunteers. Helen reflects on how vital volunteers are to the organisation and also how volunteering can benefit the individual too.
