Hi, I’m Karen, and this podcast is built on the stories, spirit, and legacy of my brother, Joel Moss.In September of last year, Joel died suddenly. His loss shook our family to the core—and it rippled through the music community of Saratoga Springs, NY, the place he called home for the last twenty years. But Joel’s story doesn’t begin there. It begins in Detroit, Michigan, where he grew up as the middle child of Harmon and Dorothy Moss. From Detroit, life carried him to Minneapolis, where he attended the University of Minnesota—yes, he was a proud Golden Gopher. And then, around 1969, he packed everything he owned into a VW Bug and drove to California to begin the life he was meant for: a life in music. They say, “the rest is history,” but in Joel’s case, the history is rich, layered, and filled with stories from family, friends, and colleagues who watched him build a remarkable career—one he nurtured right up to the very end.Today, I’m joined by two local musicians from the Capital District who knew Joel well: Johnathan and Annie Rosen. They may not remember this, but I first met them more than fifteen years ago at one of my favorite spots—Uncommon Grounds. I was having breakfast when Joel invited them to join us, and that moment became my first real glimpse into the work he was doing at Caffè Lena.So today, I’ve invited them to share their Joel stories—how they met him, what they created together, and how they continue to keep the music alive.https://annieandthehedonists.com/If you are looking for a Personal Coach contact Karen at #YESICAN coaching with Karenkh.yesican1@gmail.com440 526 1530
