Monday, 12 October, 2026
Inside Nutley Podcast #48 welcomes retired U.S. Army Major Adrienne M. Smith, Nutley’s first Hometown Heroes Banner honoree. During more than 20 years of military service, Major Smith served in a variety of commands and deployments, including assignments in Korea, Germany, and Iraq. She retired following a distinguished career decorated with four Meritorious Service Medals, eight Army Commendation Medals, seven Army Achievement Medals, three Army Good Conduct Medals, and the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal. Nutley’s Hometown Heroes Banner Program recognizes local veterans and active-duty service members for their dedication and sacrifice. Joining host Tom Greco, Major Smith reflects on her military journey—from enlisting at age 17 to her specialized roles in nursing and satellite operations with Space Command. She also shares insights into her family’s military legacy, her transition to civilian life, and what led her to choose Nutley as the community to call home and raise her daughter.
