He represented New South Wales 17 times in State of Origin, pulled on the green and gold for 20 Tests, earned multiple Dally M Team of the Year selections, and was later named in the Team of the 1980s. His legacy was cemented with induction into the NRL Hall of Fame, and more recently, the NSW Rugby League Hall of Fame.
